Aloe, native to Africa, is also known as "lily of the desert". There are in excess of 300 species of aloe growing in climates worldwide. The plant is renowned for yielding therapeutic substances in it's gel.

Aloe Vera has a cleansing effect on the digestive tract and can help ease constipation and detox the body.

Aloe gel is most commonly used as a beauty aid or moisturizer.

GRAS - Generally recognized as safe. No adverse reactions, side effects or overdose symptoms expected when taken within the recommended amounts.

Excessive amounts of Aloe Vera can cause diarrhoea and should be avoided. As a precaution do not take if you are or may be pregnant. Do not take if you have a gastro-intestinal illness.
