Celery, a familiar and popular vegetable has also been used extensively for medicinal purposes. The whole plant is gently stimulating, nourishing ad restorative for weak conditions. Celery seeds have both Anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic and hypotensive, carminative properties.

Anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, hypotensive, carminative, urinary antiseptic, increases uric acid excretion.

GRAS - Generally recognized as safe. No adverse reactions, side effects or overdose symptoms expected when taken within the recommended amounts.

The safety or otherwise of the use of celery seed during pregnancy or lactation has not been determined. However, some reports indicate that large doses can act as a uterine stimulant and therefore it should be avoided during pregnancy.
