Peppermint oil has been a popular traditional remedy for indigestion and colic. Modern research has confirmed the antispasmodic effect of the herb on smooth muscles such as that of the digestive system.

Distilled oil.

Constituents:

Volatile oils composed mainly of menthol, menthone, menthyl acetate and piperitone.

Precautions

GRAS - Generally recognized as safe. No adverse reactions, side effects or overdose symptoms expected when taken within the recommended amounts.

  • The safety or otherwise of the use of Peppermint Oil during pregnancy or lactation has not been determined.
  • Inhalation of Peppermint oil is effective against excessive respiratory mucus. Avoid prolonged use of inhalants of the oil which must never be used for babies.
